WREXHAM CEMETERY

This cemetery contains over 1000 burials, the majority were Polish ex-servicemen and women who died of  injuries sustained during the war, TB and old age. They were cared for in one of the three Polish Hospitals in the area,  Penley hospital no. 3, Llanerch Panna no.11. and Iscoyd Park no. 4. With no family or relatives in this country, many were laid to rest in unmarked graves.

I have compiled a list of Polish names from data on the Wrexham Cemetery website with corrected spelling and Polish characters and passed them on to the Friends of Wrexham Cemetery and that list is now available on their webpage    www.gravestones.info/p-1/

The cemetery also contains 40 WW2  war graves of Polish servicemen which are maintained by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission (CWGC).

The monument in memory of Polish soldiers  was erected in 1989 by the Penley-Wrexham Polish Combatants Association S.P.K.
